Stewart and Hilary have been in hospitality for over 30 years, living and working in London and Cape Town and returning to Sydney in 2001.
They are relative ‘locals’ living in the adjacent shire, just up the road at Berowra and wanted to promote and contribute to the regional flavour of the area. They wanted to open a contemporary café complementing the building and the local area and capitalising on the wonderful outlook of leafy Wahroonga Park through the bay window and the alfresco feel of the neighbourhood.
In conjunction with interior designer Peter Laws the overall design brief was to provide a warm and inviting contemporary dining room with comfortable furniture, two custom built ‘luscious’ Christian la Croix appointed banquettes, a hand crafted ‘bottle’ chandelier, with functional Caesar stone coffee counters to give an overall fresh, clean and bright feel whilst maintaining some of the more traditional appointments.
A new café has been realised in Cafe Patina.
